LOGLINE:

A fresh, diverse reimagining of a classic sports underdog story spotlighting Daya, a confident, determined teenager whose world and championship dreams are rocked after her mother's career abruptly relocates them from Boston to Santa Monica.

Far from everyone and everything familiar, Daya is forced to navigate a family on the brink of destruction, a gigantic new school, and a dream-crushing rival swim team who annihilates anyone in their path. Digging deep, Daya competes for a shot at her Olympic dreams.

SYNOPSIS:

Daya, a gifted 16-year-old swimmer from Boston, unexpectedly finds the competition steeper in Santa Monica while competing against Team Gold Coast, a buzz-saw elite swim team, for a golden-ticket entry into the USA Swimming National Team trials. Displaced after her mother's long overdue career advancement, Daya is forced to start over and get her championship dreams back on track while piloting an entirely new life in Santa Monica.

Gaining the unexpected mentorship of Josh, a former Olympic-level swimmer who long ago traded external expectations of his talent for his unwavering pursuit to become a world-class waterman, unknowingly producing the perfect unconventional coach with the extraordinary training tactics required for Daya's shot at her Olympic dreams.

Daya is a true underdog as she battles to train, navigate a family on the brink of destruction and establish herself in a new school. Her parents' careers conspire to keep them away from home, and Daya is alone, a stranger in a strange land, contending against an entire team of elite swimmers whose relentless training keeps them razor-sharp. Josh's unorthodox training proves fortuitous as Daya strengthens her mind and body. She pushes through injuries, fierce competition, and nearly losing a friend to achieve her championship dreams while maintaining the bond that brings her fractured family back together.

SYNOPSIS:

South Coast is set in the blue-collar Southern New England coastal cities from Rhode Island through Maine. A coastline speckled with ports and vessels packed with drugs, guns, and cash.

Based on real events - January 20th, 2011, federal authorities arrest 120 of the Patriarca Crime Family's most influential lieutenants across New England. The decades-old influence of the New York Mafia in Boston and Providence has lifted overnight. This lucrative power vacuum rapidly filled with a colorful cast of local gangsters looking for their mark. In steps, our original characters, Joe & Tony Barboza, brothers forced into a life neither imagined after their parents' execution.

With the influence of their Uncle Vitro, a fishing boat captain with the salt of the sea running through his veins, and family friend Daniel, the Barboza Brothers loosen the stranglehold of the New York Mafia on the South Coast. Brutally dismantling the Mafia's governance one racket at a time. Enlisting a diverse crew of local gangsters, with a keep it in the family business plan, the Barboza Brothers take control of the drug, extortion, gambling, smuggling, and money laundering rackets. Keeping profits and power on the South Coast.

South Coast explores the historically and culturally diverse coastal cities of Southern New England, where new world thinking conflicts with old-world traditions.

LOGLINE:

As the sun sets on Jimmy’s youth, he finds himself working behind the counter of his father's diner, usually seven days a week, in a decaying factory town. Jimmy grows consumed by the mystery of his mother's tragic death and her unfulfilled dreams of another world, one where Jimmy knows he can shine.

SYNOPSIS:

Back to One is a character-driven coming of age drama exploring a young man's struggle to piece together the unrealized dreams of his parents and the critical decisions that shaped his destiny.

Despite an urge to break away, the daily grind has left Jimmy's dreams fading, and future unclear. Things get sticky, with his fathers' failing health, finances, and falling in love with his coworker Annabella who has dangerous strings attached.

Back to One's narrative lives in three aesthetically unique timelines. Gritty 1990s cinema verite of Jimmy's youth. 1970's Kodachrome aesthetic of his parents' tragic storyline and the high-gloss near future where Jimmy is a world-famous actor, boozing, drugging, and fucking his way through Hollywood's underbelly.

Back to One is a heartfelt story about finding happiness along the bumpy road of life, a whisper in the ear of the audience, connecting them to their dreams, passions, and struggles.
